The wooden tub wagon represents one of the earliest forms of industrial rail vehicle. Favoured by many quarry and mine owners owing to their light weight, cheap construction costs and easy maintenance, many continued to be used well after the introduction of iron and steel wagons. These wagons endured a very hard life and it was common to see them dented and scarred as a result of their labours. Typically moved around the quarry face by hand, once loaded they would be marshalled together by the quarry loco and taken away to the crusher or  be tipped into larger main line wagons

The kit comprises a one piece cast resin body and separate chassis kit comprising underframes, chassis spacer and buffer-headstocks. Supplied with brass pinpoint bearings and metal wheels.
