These large 4-wheel wagons were constructed by The North British Railway for the sole purpose of returning empty whiskey casks and beer barrels to the numerous distilleries and breweries served by the NBR.  Rated at just 8 tons, they were restricted to empty cask traffic. Some survived into LNER days being rebuilt as 10 ton vehicles. Un-rebuilt versions were downgraded to 3 tons. This kit comprises cast resin sides, ends and floor, together with dummy resin axle guards and brass t-sections to form the curved roof ties. Sprung buffers are also included. Requires wheels, couplings, paint & transfers to complete. It is suggested that a commercially available compensation unit is used to carry the wheels.
