Concrete Stores Building (BK32)
 
This kit depicts a typical precast concrete building that could be found in yards and depots from the 1930’s onwards. Made of concrete modular panels with a cement asbestos roof, these versatile buildings could be put to all manner of uses, both on the railway and in industry and municipal settings. I have imagined it as a stores building, issuing oil and sundries requires for the regular servicing of locomotives and rolling stock, but it could serve equally well as a mess room or as the clerk’s offices. Footprint of the completed structure is approx. 180mm x 77mm.
