The cast resin parts feature full body detailing typical of wood panelled coaches, body side mouldings, droplights, door ventilator bonnets and door hinges. A detailed underframe casting is also included featuring individual step boards.
The design features a pair of open saloons, separated by a central guards compartment, making this an ideal vehicle or a one-coach train on smaller layouts, or as part of a mixed formation.
The ducket is a separate casting allowing for different build options. Without the ducket the coach could become a directors / inspection saloon with central attendants compartment, or a family saloon with central luggage space. The more creative builder may spot opportunities for using the parts as the basis for a 'kit bash'. Alternative plain ends can be supplied if requested for more variety.
The parts assemble quickly into the basic body, using superglue or a general modelling adhesive. The builder only has to fabricate a simple floor from a rectangle of plastic card, together with some partitions and glazing. A preformed styrene roof is included together with a pair of Narrow gauge style bogies (wheels not included).
The components for this freelance design have been created from my own masters and moulds. As with all my coachbuilder packs, the aim is to provide the builder with a quick and economical way to add to their rolling stock fleet. For anyone who enjoys rolling stock construction and doesn't mind a bit of work, this basic kit offers a considerable time saving over conventional scratch building, whilst still allowing the builder the flexibility to create a highly individual model.
The photos show the parts you will receive and a test build in different stages to illustrate how a completed vehicle could look.
The finished body will have an approximate size of 175mm x 42mm.
