Rural Cottage Kit (BK09)

This building represents a small stone cottage as might be found in rural locations, such as a shepherd's cottage or maybe a crofter's dwelling or bothy. In costal areas they may be fisherman's cottages by the quayside. More enterprising builders may spot opportunities for modification or 'kit bashing', perhaps into a blacksmith's shop or farm buildings. A couple of saw cuts through the gable ends and you have a pair of low relief buildings suitable for the back of the layout.

The walls feature a weathered random stone pattern, the roof has full slate detail with chipped and slipped slates, typical of older structures. The windows are also carefully cast resin featuring sash detail, and a set of three doors is supplied giving options for plain doors, or a smarter front door with window.

The footprint of the full model is approx. 205mm x 120mm.

The pictures show the set of parts that you will receive, a test built model in white resin and a painted sample to illustrate how a finished model could look.

Light Railway Station kit - corrugated iron style (BK08)

This building has been created in the style of those widely used on light railways and narrow gauge lines. These relatively cheap corrugated iron structures made them attractive options for station accommodation on shoestring schemes and where particularly favoured on the Colonel Stephens lines. It could also be used as a waiting room as part of a larger station, or even a parcels office. The resin is easily worked with common modelling tools and more creative modellers may spot opportunities for modification or 'Kit bashing' to suit their own needs.

This kit of detailed cast resin components has been produced from my own masters and moulds. The parts assemble quickly using superglue or general purpose adhesive to create a structure with a footprint of approx. 195mm x 85mm, making it an ideal building for smaller layouts.

The photographs show the parts you will receive plus some images of a test built sample to show how a finished model could look. The kit also includes a pair of notice boards and a set of notes to assist the construction. (please note the track and platform shown in some photos is not included

Stone station building (BK10)

This building has been created in the style of structures typically found on small rural stations, where local architects and local materials combined to create neat and robust buildings for the communities the railway served. The building could be used on its own for a smaller branch line station, or combined with other buildings for a larger station. It could also be used as a waiting room, perhaps on the opposite platform to a more substantial building. The resin is easily worked with common modelling tools and more adventurous modellers may spot opportunities for modification or 'Kit bashing' to suit their own needs.

This kit of detailed cast resin components has been produced from my own masters and moulds. The parts assemble quickly using superglue or general purpose adhesive to create a structure with a footprint of approx. 198mm x 90mm, making it an ideal building for smaller layouts. The building can be used in conjunction with other kits to form a cluster of buildings so typical of rural stations where extra accommodation has been added piecemeal over the years. The last few photos illustrate this kit combined with a stone hut kit which is available to purchase on a separate listing (not part of this sale).

Kit includes materials for glazing, gutters and downpipes, plus construction notes to help with assembly.
