7mm Narrow Gauge O-16.5 COACHES
4-Wheel Coach complete kit (NG04)
Finished body size: 92mm x 42mm.
4-Wheel Luggage Van complete kit (NG05)
Finished body size: 92mm x 42mm.
4-wheel coach kits include cast resin sides featuring full body panelling, droplights, door ventilators and hinges, allowing rapid assembly of the coach using just superglue or a general purpose adhesive. A pre-formed styrene roof section is included and the kits come complete with glazing and a chassis kit including metal wheels and brass bearings. Couplings, paint and door handles are required to complete.
4-Wheel Brake Coach complete kit (NG06)
Finished body size: 92mm x 42mm.
4-Wheel Brake Coach Body Only Kit - pack of 5 parts
(including roof) (NG12)
Finished body size: 92mm x 38mm (46mm over duckets).
When assembled, the body has been designed to conceal a RTR underframe (not included). Alternatively an etched brass unit could be used by those wishing to add compensation or model a narrower gauge.
As with all my coachbuilder packs, this pack offers something between scratch building and kit building, taking out the tedious work of producing panelled coach sides from scratch, whilst being cheaper that conventional kits and with the added flexibility of allowing the builder to finish and detail as they wish.
For anyone who enjoys building their own vehicles and doesn't mind doing a bit of work, this pack offers a quick and economical way to build up their rolling stock collection.
The photographs show the parts you will receive, and a test built & detailed body, placed on a chassis to illustrate the shape of a completed vehicle.
This vehicle is designed to compliment the 4 wheel third coach.
4-Wheel 3rd Coach Body Only Kit - pack of 5 parts (including roof) (NG07)
Finished body size: is 92mm x 38mm.
The body has been designed to conceal a RTR chassis, the vehicle in the photographs uses a Hornby OO gauge coach chassis for simple O-16.5 operation, but a wagon chassis would also be suitable. For modellers of 14mm gauge, an etched brass chassis could be substituted.
The photographs show the white resin parts you will receive, the parts assembled into the basic white coach body, plus examples of completed vehicles in different liveries to illustrate how a finished model could look. A brake coach and luggage van to compliment this vehicle is also available.
4-Wheel Luggage Van Body Only Kit - pack of 5 parts
(including roof) (NG08)
The body of this van has been designed to conceal readily available RTR OO gauge chassis making it a very straightforward project for an O-16.5 layout. Alternatively the builder could use a white metal or brass chassis which would allow variation in gauge, such as 14mm to represent a prototypical 2 foot gauge.
The photographs show the parts you will receive, plus a test build that has been painted and finished with door handles and roof furniture (not included).
The dimensions of the assembled body as shown in the photographs is approx. 92mm x 37mm.
If you enjoy rolling stock construction this will be a simple and economical project to create a useful and versatile vehicle for a narrow gauge operation.
4-Wheel Workman's Coach - body kit - matchboard sided O-16.5 / 14mm (NG18)
This is an entirely new model to my range. I have called it a workman's coach, slightly better in terms of accommodation that the primitive quarryman's vehicles run by some railways, but with just a single door and (most probably) longitudinal bench seating, still very basic in terms of passenger comfort.
The set of detailed cast resin parts allow rapid assembly of the coach body using just superglue or a general purpose adhesive. A styrene roof section is included as well as a styrene floor piece. Requires paint, glazing and door handles to complete.
This is a body only kit, allowing the builder to fit a chassis of their choice according to gauge or design. A simple solution for O-16.5 would be to use a ready-to-run wagon chassis, whilst other builders may prefer an etched brass unit.
Finished body size is aprox. 92mm x 42mm.
The photographs show the white resin parts you will receive and the parts assembled as a test build into the basic unpainted coach body.
Bogie Brake 3rd pack of parts (NG15)
This vehicle is freelance in design, but intended to represent a style of rolling stock constructed in the late Victorian / Edwardian period.
The photographs show the parts you will receive plus a test build in different states of completion to illustrate how a finished model could look. Please note this is an unpainted set of parts.
The finished body is approx. 225mm long (excluding end steps) and 42mm wide (excluding the running boards). Bogies and couplings, glazing and paint are required to complete.
Bogie Brake Saloon (NG16)
The cast resin parts feature full body detailing typical of wood panelled coaches, body side mouldings, droplights, door ventilator bonnets and door hinges. A detailed underframe casting is also included featuring individual step boards.
The design features a pair of open saloons, separated by a central guards compartment, making this an ideal vehicle or a one-coach train on smaller layouts, or as part of a mixed formation.
The ducket is a separate casting allowing for different build options. Without the ducket the coach could become a directors / inspection saloon with central attendants compartment, or a family saloon with central luggage space. The more creative builder may spot opportunities for using the parts as the basis for a 'kit bash'. Alternative plain ends can be supplied if requested for more variety.
The parts assemble quickly into the basic body, using superglue or a general modelling adhesive. The builder only has to fabricate a simple floor from a rectangle of plastic card, together with some partitions and glazing. A preformed styrene roof is included together with a pair of Narrow gauge style bogies (wheels not included).
The components for this freelance design have been created from my own masters and moulds. As with all my coachbuilder packs, the aim is to provide the builder with a quick and economical way to add to their rolling stock fleet. For anyone who enjoys rolling stock construction and doesn't mind a bit of work, this basic kit offers a considerable time saving over conventional scratch building, whilst still allowing the builder the flexibility to create a highly individual model.
The photos show the parts you will receive and a test build in different stages to illustrate how a completed vehicle could look.
The finished body will have an approximate size of 175mm x 42mm.
Ashover Light Railway Coach kit (NG17)
These attractive and highly distinctive vehicles were built by the Gloucester Carriage works in 1925 for the newly formed Ashover Light Railway, built by The Clay Cross Company. The design was a Gloucester built body mounted on second hand WD bogies from WW1 service.
This kit represents a step up from my previous scratch aid Coachbuilder packs, and is much closer to a conventional kit. The kit contains all the main parts necessary to construct a basic model as shown in the photographs, whilst allowing the builder to complete the final detailing as they wish.
The detailed resin parts have been created from my own masters and moulds. The resin works easily with common modelling tools, parts glue together with superglue and paint well with any good quality modelling paint. Instructions giving guidance for construction are included. For anyone with experience of rolling stock construction this kit represents a relatively quick and straightforward build.
The kit comprises the following parts: Coach sides and ends, internal partitions, underframe and headstocks, bogies. A styrene roof and floor section is included together with a 3D printed hand brake wheels. The builder just needs to fabricate external step boards and fit glazing. Handles, grab rails, roof ventilators, wheels and couplings will be required to complete. The bogie castings are designed to allow for the fitting of NEM couplers and require 16.5mm gauge, 8mm diameter wheels.
The photographs show the parts you will receive, plus a completed test build illustrating how a completed model could look.
Coach Bogies pack of parts - pair (wheels NOT included) (NG03)
This freelance design incorporates many of the typical features of this style of plate bogie. The wheelbase is 26mm and is shown fitted with 12mm wheels (not included). Smaller wheels could also be fitted, for example I used 10.5mm in some of my models fitted with these bogies.
The design involves a sturdy centre sub unit to carry the wheels (internal bearing) and dummy detailed side plates that are glued on afterwards.
