7mm Narrow Gauge O-16.5

WAGONS

Open Wagon Body - 2 Plank (NG01)

This one piece cast resin wagon body has been produced from my own master and mould. It represents a typical design of small two plank open wagon with a central drop down door. The model features full plank detail and iron work including bolt and rivet heads, plus iron corner plates.

Supplied in white resin ready for painting and additional detailing. An ideal project to use up that old chassis that has been sitting in the spares box for years!

The photographs show the white body that you will receive plus some examples of how the body can be incorporated into different designs of finished vehicles. The grey dumb buffered wagon representing a design from the late 1800s, the brown wagon a later design with steel end stanchions added from strip styrene.

Body dimensions approx. 68mm x 39mm x 12.5mm (L x W x H)

Flat Wagon Kit (NG02)

This detailed wagon represents a typical design of small flat bed wagon with a timber deck, iron side plates and lashing hoops for securing loads. The model features full plank detail including splits and dents from a hard working life. Flat wagons were versatile unsung workhorses of the wagon fleet, capable of carrying a wide range of different shaped loads that could simply be set down on the deck and secured with ropes.

Kit comprises a robust one piece cast chassis unit, deck, head stocks, dummy axle boxes and brake gear. Bearings fit easily into the chassis unit for smooth and reliable free running.

Supplied in white resin ready for assembly and painting. Just requires couplings, 2mm brass pinpoint bearings and wheels to complete (26mm axles). I recommend using either 10mm or 12mm diameter wheel sets.

Body dimensions approx. 67mm x 37mm (L x W).

Timber Quarry Tub Wagon Kit (NG21)

The wooden tub wagon represents one of the earliest forms of industrial rail vehicle. Favoured by many quarry and mine owners owing to their light weight, cheap construction costs and easy maintenance, many continued to be used well after the introduction of iron and steel wagons. These wagons endured a very hard life and it was common to see them dented and scarred as a result of their labours. The sample model has been finished to depict a typical tired and work-beaten vehicle.

Approximate dimensions: length 54mm, width 37mm, height ARL 32mm.

The kit comprises a cast resin body and separate cast chassis unit with overlays for the pedestal bearings. Supplied with brass pinpoint bearings, the kit requires wheels (26mm pinpoint axles) and couplings to complete.

Iron Quarry Tub Wagon Kit (NG22)

The tub wagon was once synonymous with quarrying and mining and the main rolling stock of many an industrial narrow-gauge system. Often moved by hand over temporary track to the working face for loading, then marshalled into rakes ready to be hauled away by the quarry loco to the crusher or for loading into standard gauge wagons at the interchange sidings. This freelance design of iron tub wagon was inspired by similar vehicles used in ironstone mining operations in North Oxfordshire up to the 1930s.

Approximate dimensions: length 52mm, width 31mm, height ARL 32mm.

The kit comprises a cast resin body and separate cast chassis unit with overlays for the pedestal bearings. Supplied with brass pinpoint bearings, the kit requires wheels (26mm pinpoint axles) and couplings to complete.

3-Plank Drop Side Open Wagon. Complete kit for O-16.5 (NG24)

This freelance kit has been designed to represent a popular design of open wagon, the three plank drop side.  Loads could be for example crated goods, machinery or loose stone/minerals. The rounded ends increased capacity allowing higher stacking in the centre, particularly useful for lower density loads such as coal or coke. Stout timber end stanchions resisted the force of a shifting load during starting and braking and the dreaded rough shunt. This is a complete kit requiring only glue, paint and couplings to complete. It features a one-piece cast resin body with separate end stanchions, and is supplied with Chassis kit NG23 including brass bearings and 12mm spoked metal wheels for O-16.5.

Approximate dimensions: Length 93mm x width 40mm
